CCAR at American Conservation Film Festival

October 13, 2018 @ 12:00 pm - 6:00 pm EDT

We have been invited to distribute CCAR during the American Conservation Film Festival! This is a terrific opportunity to educate individuals specifically interested in issues like the proposed polluting monstrosity.

As in past years, the ACFF will present films featuring people battling unhealthy and unsustainable practices in their communities. On Saturday afternoon, from 12, ACFF will screen What Lies Upstream from 12:30 – 2:00 pm, which highlights the failure of a corporation and the WVDEP to protect the clean drinking water in WV. As the audience departs the theater, there will be time to speak with people who want to stop by the CCAR table in the lobby from 2:00 to 2:30pm.

Later that afternoon, there is an event with two films from 4:00 – 5:30 pm. First, A Letter to Congress, a short film that asks people to advocate for the protection of the wilderness. Immediately following, Happening: A Clean Energy Revolution will be screened. This film follows a citizen investigating green energy sources, how to improve home efficiency and how people of different backgrounds work together to petition their government to act on behalf of its citizens rather than powerful polluting industries. As the audience departs the theater, there will be time to speak with people in the lobby from 5:30 to 6:00 pm.

Please volunteer your time to staff the table! Thank you!
